Our Story

We are Sam and Emily. Two bookish best friends who love to bond over our love of fantasy and strong female main characters.

We met our freshman year of high school and quickly bonded over our shared obsession of all things Harry Potter and reading, and our strong disdain for gym class (though we did make a kick-ass badminton duo). Now that we are over the age of 21 (almost 30...) and living far away from each other, in a very real, adult-world, we wanted a fun way to stay connected!

We spent the last five years under the name of Harry Potter and the Half-Drunk Podcast, talking all things Wizarding World. It felt like the natural next move for us was to expand our content and audience to cover all things fantasy and go on a new adventure!

Hi everyone, I'm Emily! I've always been a bookworm and a lover of fantasy - I'm also a sucker for a historical fantasy or a dystopian novel. I'm loving the new direction of our podcast and look forward to meeting new badass female leads. In my spare time I love interior design, knitting, baking, and chasing my toddler around.
